This domain is Shirley Siaton‘s photography portfolio, containing my original, sporadic and wholehearted snapshots.

This website of yours truly started off in plain, static HTML format back in 2005, with all photos archived and categorized manually. In the years that followed, the site disappeared and reappeared sporadically due to my wavering interest in maintaining its contents.

Current design is entitled Cherry Blossom, a light and lovely pastel floral theme courtesy of Rachel (Mutable Fire).

My Japanese Spitz-Poodle dog who likes to sleep under beds, racks, shelves and tables because of the coolness of the floor. Here, she has just awakened from a refreshing nap beneath the kitchen’s newspaper rack and is still a bit disoriented from sleep.

Taken from inside a jeepney I was riding, as it made a turn at a street corner. I was struck by the color and abundance of the shrub growth, so I immediately took a picture. The white stuff framing the plants in this image is, of course, the jeepney’s interior.

Believe it or not, all these items were made with old newspapers as raw material. The newsprint is cut into long rectangles and folded into strips thick and strong enough for tight weaving, then these strips are woven (as in native mats) into the shape of desired object. The completed object is then painted, varnished and decorated with buttons, lace, rick-rack and other materials.

This was one of the biggest and most attractive Vanda orchid plants in a farm at Capiz Province. What got my attention the most was its large, fragrant reddish-purple flowers. No plucking was allowed though, so I had to make-do with just a picture.

This shot was taken from an orchid farm in Capiz Province. These were Vanda species orchids being grown on driftwood. This perspective of the orchids reminded me of Ents from The Lord of the Rings, hence the title.

Shot at an orchid farm in Capiz Province, the various strains of Cattleya and Dendrobium orchids are indeed very beautiful and colorful to behold! These were very expensive stuff, though.

The mother native deer in a Capiz Province reservation for endangered species. This picture was taken from a close angle. She is a gentle animal and not averse to humans. However, we were warned not to reach through the wire fence and try to touch her.

A small breed of native deer, indigenous to the Philippines. It is shown here as captured and being raised by a reservation for endangered species in Capiz. The deer and her young are housed in a fairly rock-strewn pen peppered with trees and wild growth.
